Olivia J. Healy

Hello! 

My research is in applied microeconomics, and I use descriptive and quasi-experimental methods to study issues at the intersection of labor economics, health, and education. Recent projects explore how access to childcare and milestones like becoming a parent shape family well-being. My work aims to inform policies that promote parent and child well-being, family stability, and equitable access to early care and education in the United States. 

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department in the Martha & Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University. I was formerly a postdoctoral research fellow at Cornell University in the Brooks School of Public Policy. I received my Ph.D. from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. My training is primarily in economics but draws on other social science disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology) to study relations between public policy and human development (e.g., health, human capital, and labor market outcomes).
